Goal

The goal of the Evening Islamic Studies is to provide the children a sound foundation in their Islamic knowledge and practice, while inculcating the love of Allah and the Prophet, Peace be Upon Him.

The 'tarbiyyah' تربية (upbringing) of the students is highly emphasized.

Curriculum
Subject Name Subject Description
Quraan Recitation (تلاوة) Reading the Quraan with proper pronunciation.
Duas/Surah Memorization (تحفيظ) Memorizing many important Duas and Surahs under proper survisement.
Islamic Jurispredence (فقه الإسلام) The basics of Islaam. How to pray, make wudu, fast, and rulings on common matters.
Biography of the Prophet (سيرة النبي ,صلى الله عليه و سلم) The life history of the Prophet, peace be upon Him, as well a brief history of some of the earlier Prophets, peace be upon Them so that the students cultivate love in their hearts.
Islamic Ethics (أخلاق الإسلام) Manners of Islam from a theoretical and practical standpoint. For example, how to talk, respect parents, eat, sleep, play, interact with Muslims as well as non-Muslims, etc.
Beliefs (عقائد) Beliefs that make someone a Muslim, including the beliefs held about Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, etc from the viewpoint of the Ahl us Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah
